NFIRS NARRATIVE (SUMMARY):
At 1445 hours on Wednesday November 8, 2006 we were dispatched to a hazardous
condition. Two units were assigned to this incident. Four personnel responded. We arrived
on scene at 1456 hours and cleared at 1506 hours. The incident occurred at 14400
Macadam Rd S, Tukwila in District 002. The local station is 52. The general description of
this property is residential street, road or residential driveway. The primary task(s)
performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. No mutual/automatic
aid was given or received.
Alarm number 0604043 has been assigned to this incident.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Tukwila Fire Units dispatched to investigate two five gallon plastic buckets, labeled
"Corrosive #8" found on the side of the road, approximately 50' south of S 144 St on
Macadam Rd S. RP stated he did not feel comfortable approaching the scene, as he did
not know what was in the containers.
On arrival, E51 investigated, wearing level D' PPE (Bunker Gear, SCBA in Standby
mode, wearing latex/nitrile exam gloves). Liquid was a dark brown to black color with the
apparent consistency of used motor oil. Both buckets were intact and not leaking A street
department worker transported the buckets to station 51 for later pick-up and disposal by
the Department of Ecology. (Buckets were placed inside the fenced area with the
dumpster, behind station 51).
