Morales, Mark Author Rank FFI Author Assignment 1 Narrative Text At 1925 hours on Sunday February 18, 2007 we were dispatched to a chemical spill/leak. Six units were assigned to this incident. Fourteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1938 hours and cleared at 2011 hours. The incident occurred at 17308 Southcenter Pky, Tukwila in District 006. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is restaurant or cafeteria. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken. Mutual aid was received on this incident. One patient was involved with this incident. Alarm number 0700572 has been assigned to this incident. E51 dispatch to 17308 Southcenter Pk for a smell of natural gas within a building. While in route dispatch notified E51 that the smell of gas is giving the reporting party a headache and did not know where the smell was coming from but within 10 the reporting party felt sick. An additional up date from dispatch was that the reported party has left the location and was concerned about the customers still within the building. The first due station is Station 51. B51 while in route code greened A71,E53 and L54. E51 arrived to find a 1000 x 50 single story multiple business not evaluated nothing visible. Page: 4 Printed: 02/18/2007 23:54:58 • Incident Report 2007-0700572 -000 Tukwila Fire Department Narratives E51 investigated to find no smell of gas with the business that the reported party was within or each of the business on either side. E51 used a miro max air monitor during this investigation. The air monitor detection values all were inside normal ranges. E51 evaluated all possible sources within these business but found no leak. B51 investigated the natural gas meters at the rear of the building and found no problem. B51 instructed E52 to investigate the area parking lot south of E51. B51 smelt a strong odor of gasoline. E52 found a slight smell of gasoline that was dissipating. E52 reported to E51 of this and E52 did not believe that this smell could be the cause because of the gab between the two locations. The reported party, made contact with E51. E51 interviewed the to enhance the understanding of the situation. E51 provided medical care to wife. At this time E52 and B51 returned in-service. E51 traveled around the building to confirm that there was no additional gas smell in the area. E51 found no smell of gas and returned in-service.
