CHECKING WITH THE METER Narrative Name 0701000 Narrative Type Incident Narrative Date 23:57:08 Friday, March 30, 2007 Author TF1138 - Roberts, Martin Author Rank LT Author Assignment 1 Narrative Text At 1922 hours on Friday March 30, 2007 we were dispatched to a hazmat release investigation with no hazmat.. Six units were assigned to this incident. Eleven personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1929 hours and cleared at 1950 hours. The incident occurred at 14121 Tukwila Intl Blvd, Tukwila in District 014. The local station is 54. The general description of this property is specialty shop. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken. Automatic aid was received on this incident. Alarm number 0701000 has been assigned to this incident. Upon arrival L54 was met by the store manager. He stated there was a strong odor of natural gas in the rear storage area. L54 directed all incoming units to stand by on TIB. B51 arrived and established TIB Command. L54-4 was sent to the gas meter and to prepare to shut the gas line. L54 Officer and L54-3 entered the building with the Micro Max to check for natural gas. We found the area clear of natural gas, no detection by the Micro Max and no odor of gas. We exited the building and contacted TIB Command. L54 Officer. and L54-4 re-entered the building with the manager to have him show us were the odor was strongest. We again found no evidence of a natural gas leak. The area around the gas meter was clear and the meter showed no signs of damage. All stand by units were code greened. TIB Command was terminated. B51 and L54 returned.
