At 1110 hours on Thursday May 3, 2007 we were dispatched to a hazmat release
investigation with no hazmat. Two units were assigned to this incident. Seven personnel
responded. We arrived on scene at 1123 hours and cleared at 1149 hours. The incident
occurred at 11500 E Marginal Way S, Tukwila in District 008. The local station is 53. The
general description of this property is residential street, road or residential driveway. The
primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. No
mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 0701421 has been assigned to this incident.
L54 was dispatched to areported freon spill, upon arrival we could not locate the spill.
L54 requested the RP to return .to the scene. Upon the RP's arrival , he directed us to the
area of the spill.
The RP reported that he observed two males unload a refrigerator out of a truck, as he
approached the men, he saw them strike the back of the refrigerator with a crowbar. It
appeared that they were emptying the freon tank. The men then loaded the refrigerator into
the truck and left the scene. The RP did not get a license plate number.
The spill was approximately 2'x2' on the gravel on the South shoulder of S 115th. I
contacted BC Grisham forinformation on the freon, he said it was not a hazardous
material and would evaporate. L54 did not attempt any clean up.
The RP was also interviewed by TPD.
L54 returned.
