McFarland, Loren LT 1 At 1110 hours on Wednesday May 30, 2007 we were dispatched to an oil or other combustible liquid spill. Eight units were assigned to this incident. Thirteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1119 hours and cleared at 1248 hours. The incident occurred at 1201 Andover Park E, TUKWILA in District 1116. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is vehicle parking area. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel were to identify and analyze hazardous materials. Mutual aid was received on this incident. Alarm number 0701769 has been assigned to this incident. FM 51 was first to arrive and determine that there was a diesel fuel spill from a damaged semi -truck saddle tank. Approximately 75 gallons of fuel were spilled on the ground. FM 51 established command and was also able to stuff aid gloves into the gash in the fuel tank and mostly curtail the leak. When E-52 arrived we brought up our Amerisorb and with assistance of FF Johnson diked around the parking lot drain. Some diesel had collected in the drain and was barely starting to flow into the outflow. Stuffed absorbant pads into the outflow pipe. E-52 also placed a portable collectionn pool under the leaking fuel tank. E-53 brought more pads, Amerisorb, and plugs. Drove a plug into the tank gash on top of the gloves that were in place. E-51 arrived with the HazMat tow truck and more Amerisorb, patch kit and overpak drums. We sent B-51 back to Station 51 to bring the air powered pump. When the pump arrived used it to pump out the damaged fuel tank.' Pumped the fuel into another semi -truck that was on site and had room in its tank. A mechanic for the truck company arrived and he shut off the cross over line to stop the fuel from the undamaged tank from flowing into the damaged tank. After the fuel tank had been pumped out as much as possible Amerisorb was spread over the parking area on those areas that light fuel coverage. Any pooled area was saved for the cleanup company to pick up the fuel in these areas. NRC was contacted by the trucking company to cleanup the spilled diesel fuel. They were initiating a response as soon as they had a crew together. As the scene became stabilized Tukwila units were released until E-52 was the last on scene. When E-52 was finished picking up equipment and final spreading of Amerisorb E-52 returned with App 534 to station 51. 26 bags of Amerisorb, one portable pool and 24 absorbant pads were used on this incident. 1999 Freightliner A86641E 05-31-08 Wa Vin# 1FV730Y9XXPA22119 Owner Page: 5 Printed: 06/02/2007 08:37:48 Incident Report 2007-0701169 -000 Tukwila Fire Department Narratives Pacific Northwest Motor Freight 275 Pine Forest Road Goldendale, Wa 98620 Phone 963-8050 Northland Insurance Policy # TF516372 Agent Pacific International Underwriters 627 Dayton Street Edmonds, Wa 98020 End of Report Page: 6 Printed: 06/02/2007 08:37:48 Ificidgnt History for:#TF07001664 CN: $TF07001769 Received 05/30/07 11:10:49 BY CR08 Entered 05/30/07 11:12:27 BY CR08 Dispatched 05/30/07 11:15:16 BY FD23 Enroute 05/30/07 11:17:02 Onscene 05/30/07 11:19:53 Closed 05/30/07 12:48:51 /VC9243 /VC9243 /VC5055 Xref:#TP07014725 4o-r1")(40q Initial Type:HZLEAK TG: Initial Alarm Level:1 Final Type:HZLEAK (HAZD CHEMICAL SPILL LEAK (2A))Pri:2Dispo: Alrm Lev: 1 Police TP1200 Fire TF5135 Grp:T7Beat: Lt/Lg: Police Rms: Fire Rms: Medic Rms: S-#101 Loc:1201 ANDOVER PK E ,TUK -- FRONTIER PACKAGING (V) Name:BURNHAM, SEAN/ Addr:FRONTIER PACKAGING INC Phone:2065757772 11:12:27 VC9243 CR08 ENTRY 11:12:27 CR08 11:12:41 VC5055 FD23 11:13:41 VC5196 PD33 11:15:16 VC5055 FD23 11:15:16 FD23 11:15:16 11:15:16 11:15:16 11:15:16 11:15:16 11:15:16 11:15:16 11:15:16 11:15:16 11:15:16 11:15:16 11:16:29 FD23 FD23 FD23 FD23 FD23 FD23 FD23 FD23 FD23 FD23 FD23 FD23 11:16:58 VCO262 FD22 11:17:02 TF1162 E53 $ASNCAS HOLD $CROSS DISP ON THE WEST SIDE BEHIND, SEMI TRUCK LOSI NG FUEL , DIESEL.. 100 GALLONS ON THE GR OUND, HASNT GOT IT STOPPED. $TF07001769 #TP07014725 E52 #TF1119 MCFARLAND, LOREN #TF1163 RYDEEN, STEVE #TF1146 CURL, JOEL C/F4 ASST E53 #TF1162 RODAL, BILL #TF1140 CODENYS, ALAN #TF1123 GILBERT, MATTHEW C/F4 ASST TFINFO #TFINFO TUKWILA CHIEF INFO PAGER C/F4 C/F4 $WF07006191 C/F4 #KF0247 RICARD, SHAD C/F4 $KF07006162 #BHM80 BOEING HAZ MAT 80 C/F4 #PSH777 PORT HAZMAT 777 (433-5380) C/F4 C/F4 #XF1234 BC ALL CALL GROUP C/F4 $XF07020095 GRP: T9 ---> T7.
