B-51 came across a semi -truck on the right hand shoulder and was checking for injuries. E-52 and A-54 stopped here also. Found that this was not an accident and continued to respond north. E-52 first to have visual and go on scene in the 12900 block of I-5 northbound. There was an oil slick across the three outside lanes of traffic with a mid sized passenger vehicle with heavy damage to the rear of the vehicle and a semi truck with flat bed trailer in front of the passenger vehicle- both parked on the right shoulder. B-51 and A-54 arrived. B-51 took command and A-54 checked for injuries. E-52 started to spread absorbant on the roadway. Two DOT vehicles were also on location and they began to spread absorbants on the roadway also. No injuries were reported at this accident. Initially the three outside lanes of traffic were closed. DOT and E-52 worked to set up cones and traffic diversion. Absorbants were spread in lane three first and then two and finally one. As the lanes were covered then lane three was opened to traffic and then lane two after being covered in absorbants. The truck driver did state that the vehicle that had caused the accident had left the scene. Nine bags of Amerisorb were used from Tukwila units. At least twelve bags of absorbants from DOT units were spread on the roadway. When absorbants were spread and after lane three and two were opened to traffic Tukwila units returned leaving the scene in control of WSP and DOT. All Tukwila units in service- returning.
