Narrative Text A motorist lost part of a trailer hitch on I-5 N/B. Eight vehicles hit the trailer parts causing
damage to each one. The damage ranged from blown tires to punctured gas tanks. All
vehicles involved pulled to the right shoulder of the Freeway. A passerby called 911 and
reported a fuel leak from one vehicle. E53 was dispatched to the scene. On arrival one
vehicle was found with a small pool of gas under the car. The gas tank was empty. E53
used absorbent material to remove the hazard. The scene was protected by E53 blocking
the outside lane until WSP arrived. There were no injuries involved.
