Seven units were assigned to this incident. Fourteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1354 hours and cleared at 1405 hours. The incident occurred at 12626 INTERURBAN Ave S, TUKWILA in District 001. The local station is 53. The general description of this property is manufacturing, processing. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken. Automatic aid was received on this incident. The above units responded to a reported smell of natural gas. Upon arrival, the building was evacuated and we spoke to the manager. She mentioned that a strong odor of natural gas was noted by employees in the front office. She then had the building evacuated. E53 crew noticed a slight smell of natural gas in the 12626 Occupancy, but no reading was Page: 4 Printed: 10/11/2007 18:53:15 Incident Report 2007-0703565 -000 Tukwila Fire Department Narratives noted on the Micromax. When E53 crew went to 12624 (adjacent business), we did note more odor and a slight reading on the Micromax of "1" in CO. When E53 Lt spoke with the workers in the warehouse, it was determined that they had just refilled some propane bottles and brought them back from Suburban Propane. It appears that they may have bled some propane into their warehouse as they were changing propane bottles in their fork lift. No other reason for the odor could be found. The odor of propane dissipated before we left and the Micromax did not show any additional reading. B51 code greened all units and E53 returned. Alarm number 0703565 has been assigned to this incident.
