Narrative Text At 0854 hours on Monday October 15, 2007 we were dispatched to a gasoline or other
flammable liquid spill. One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded.
We arrived on scene at 0859 hours and cleared at 0909 hours. The incident occurred at
451 Costco Dr, Tukwila in District 005. The local station is 51. The general description of
this property is service station, gas station. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by
responding personnel was investigation. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 0703623 has been assigned to this incident.
E51 dispatched to 451 Costco Dr for a reported gasoline fuel leak out of a van. Spill said
to be three to four feet wide. RP said to just completed fuelling the van with 36 gallons of
fuel. The first due station is Station 51.

E51 arrived to find 'a 4X4 foot gasoline fuel spill under the van next to the service pumps.
E51 investigated to find the fuel leaked had stopped. Upon further investigation E51
located the source of the spill on the fuel tank. The source appeared to be a overfill relief
valve. This valve was no longer leaking. E51 pushed the van fifty feet away from the
original site. Costco personnel used a containment boom and an absorbent to absorb the
spill. E51 as if they needed any assistance, they said they did not.
E51 requested the driver to start the van to insure that the leak was stopped. No additional
fuel was leaking. E51 returned in-service. E51 was behind the van while returning to
quarters and no sheen was observed on the wet roadway as the van exited the scene.
