the space and waited 5min. E51 found the CO readings had dropped to 1 in the area, but
got a strong reading over the electric forklift that was plugged into a charging unit at the
front of the warehouse near the bay doors. We got readings of 23 then 35 and was still
climbing. E51 turned off the charger and unplugged the forklift. We opened the
compartment to the battery's and found that the battery's were giving off smoke (CO) from
having a charging problem. E51 informed the tool manager about what we had found and
what had been done. The CO level had dropped to 0 minutes later and we a lowed the
building to be reoccupied.
