Narrative Text At 0754 hours on Saturday November 24, 2007 we were dispatched to a gas leak. Six units
were assigned to this incident. Fourteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0758
hours and cleared at 0836 hours. The incident occurred at 101 Andover Park E, Tukwila in
District 004. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is
recreational, hobby, home repair sales, pet store. The primary task(s) performed at the
scene by responding personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also
taken. Automatic aid was received on this incident.
Alarm number 0704179 has been assigned to this incident.
E51 was first on location to an odor of natural gas inside the building. Nothing was visible
and the building and it was not evacuated on our approach. The manager told me that they
were not evacuating and the odor was coming from the mezanine in the receiving area.
I established command and gave directions of all other units to stand by on Tukwila Pkwy
or Andover Pk E and followed the manager with my crew to the area of the odor. In the
meantime B51 assummed command.
The area of the odor was in the corner of the building on the mezanine. It was isolated to a

very small area, on about 10 square feet. It was not until the back corner was reached that
there was any odor at all, and the odor itself was very faint.
FF Smith brought the Micromax 4 gas detector and it did not receive any readings above
normal the entire time. I raidioed B51 our status and he called for PSE to respond.
PSE arrived within 15 minutes and checked the same area we did with their monitor.
There were no hits and he advised the manager to contact their maintainence department to
investigate.
E51 and B51 cleared the scene at this time and returned in service.
