WINDOWS HAVE BEEN OPENED 0801472 Incident 08:33:57 Wednesday, April 16, 2008 TF1134 - Morales, Mark FFI 1 At 0727 hours on Wednesday April 16, 2008 we were dispatched to a gasoline or other flammable liquid spill. Two units were assigned to this incident. Four personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0738 hours and cleared at 0810 hours. The incident occurred at 4475 S 134 Pl, Tukwila in District 001. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is vehicle parking area. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel were hazardous materials spill control and confinement. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. Alarm number 0801472 has been assigned to this incident. E53 dispatched to 4475 S 134 P1 for a reported gasoline spill. The spill quantity was to be excess of 20 gallons with fuel running down the street. E51 inquired the proximity of the spill to the emendate structure and if the structure was being evacuated. Dispatch updated E53 that the source of the fuel spill was a vehicle next to the building and the building was not being evacuated. E53 arrived to fmd a 15 x 30 gasoline spill coming from a vehicle next to the building. E53 estimated the fuel amount to be with in five to eight gallons. E53 investigated to fmd the fuel source to be coming from an illegal siphoning operation which someone attempted to steal fuel from the vehicle by cutting into the fuel line during the night. E53 ascertained how much fuel was left in the leaking vehicle's tank. An employee said that they only fill it with ten gallons because the fuel gage is not operating currently. Training 51 assessed E51 by consulting with Environmental Protection Agency on E51 mitigation plan and any additional follow-up if necessary. They agreed with the mitigation plan and did not require any further follow-up regarding this incident. E53 placed absorbent pads over the one drain that was threatened. No fuel had made entry into the storm system. E53 used three bags of absorbent material to mitigate the fuel spill. In addition off loaded one five gallon container of fuel into another vehicle. E51 verified the atmosphere within the building was harmless. This was confirmed to be the case. E53 and training 51 returned in-service. E53 completed the Amerizorb paper work and forwarded it to Station 51 Secretary.
