Narrative Text At 1550 hours on Sunday June 1, 2008 we were dispatched to an oil or other combustible
liquid spill. One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded. We arrived
on scene at 1558 hours and cleared at 1609 hours. The incident occurred at 6810 S 180 St,
Tukwila in District 005. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is
general retail. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel were
hazardous materials spill control and confinement. No mutual/automatic aid was given or
received.
Alarm number 0802060 has been assigned to this incident.
E51 dispatched to spill of small amount of engine oil. E51 arrived to fmd that a car engine
had tipped over in the back of a box truck, spilling 1-2 quarts of oil onto the asphalt.
E51 used 1/3 bag of Amerizorb and some absorbent provided by Home Depot (the truck
was parked in their parking lot). E51 supervised the operator of the vehicle while he
secured the car engine so it wouldn't tip over again.
E51 returned in service.
