Narrative Text At 1523 hours on Tuesday June 24, 2008 we were dispatched to a hazmat release
investigation with no hazmat. One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel
responded. We arrived on scene at 1523 hours and cleared at 1523 hours. The incident
occurred at 3900 S 115 St, Tukwila in District 007. The local station is 53. The general
description of this property is residential street, road or residential driveway. The primary
task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. No
mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 0802374 has been assigned to this incident.
E52 was notified of two 5 gallon buckets on the side of the road that appeared to contain
used oil.
Upon investigation, it was determined that the two buckets contained a mixture of oil and
dirt, something that would have come out of a sump or oil pit. The Micromax 4 gas
detector was used and it was determined it was not flammable in any way. Once we
investigated, the buckets were sealed back up.
At the time of this report, the material was still sitting on the side of road. Tukwila Public
Works asked us to contact DOE, which after a report was filed and I received a call back,
they declined to pick them up. Fire Marshal 51 is going to follow up with Public Works.
