E51 dispatched to odor of natural gas outside. Reports of odor of natural gas coming from
a construction area in the parking lot.
E51 arrived to find an excavation near the construction area that had been covered by steel
plates. There was a strong odor of sewage coming form the excavation. Air monitor
readings from the opening of the excavation showed oxygen reading of 20.9 and an LEL
reading of 0.
There was no hazard at this location.
Mall security is going to make contact with the construction company to inform them of
the situation.
E51 retumed in service.
