Narrative Text At 1421 hours on Wednesday October 1, 2008 we were dispatched to a chemical
spill/leak. Nine units were assigned to this incident. Seven personnel responded. We
arrived on scene at 1424 hours and cleared at 1854 hours. The incident occurred at 401 4
Ave N, KENT in District O/J. The local station is 51. The primary task(s) performed at the
scene by responding personnel were to identify and analyze hazardous materials. Other
special haz mat actions were also taken. Mutual aid was given on this incident.
Alarm number 0803785 has been assigned to this incident.

Narratives
Kent Fire requested assitance from HazMat 51 for a white powder incident at the Regional
Justice Center. Capt McFarland (E-52) and FF G Hansen (E-53) paired up to respond with
HazMat 51. E-52 personnel moved to E-53 for duration of the incident.
HazMat 51 and Training 51 responded to the incident. Upon arrival HazMat 51 was
assigned to research and identify any samples brought out of the building. Trng 51 was
assigned as SAFETY. Boeing Fire HazMat Captain was also assigned to research. The
Kent HazMat team made entry and brought out samples. These were tested for protein,
PH, Anthrax, and on the HazMat ID. Showed negative protein and no PH above or below
neutral. The HazMat found the powder to be LGlutemine. Non -hazardous. Samples and
other evidence turned over to King County Police/HazMat. Cleanedup, picked up and
returned.
HazMat 51 and Trng 51 returning- in service.
