Narrative Text E53 dispatched to a flammable liquid spill. Reports of buckets of paint falling off a truck
and spilling in the street.
E53 arrived to find two 5 gallon buckets in the road. Both buckets had spilled a total of
approximately 3 gallons of paint on the road way.
We used dirt from the side of the roadway to absorb the paint and keep it from spreading
down the hill. We then shoveled as much of the paint as possible and placed it back in the
containers. We blocked the area with cones to prevent damage to passing vehicles.
The cones were left in place until the paint on the roadway dried. I notified public works
of the situation so that they could follow up on Monday during normal work hours.
E53 returned in service.
