Three units were assigned to this incident. Seven personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0828 hours and cleared at 0836 hours. The incident occurred at 400 Costco Dr, Tukwila in District 005. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is department or discount store. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. Other special hoz mat actions were also taken. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. Alarm number 0900846 has been assigned to this incident. E-51, E-52, and B-51 were initially dispatched to the odor of natural gas outside of the building. E-51 was code greened by B-51. Then incident #0900847 at 837 Industry Dr was dispatched with a full structural response for natural gas inside of a building. B-51 diverted to this incident leaving E-52 to handle the 400 Costco Dr incident. Upon arrival E-52 found strong odor pockets on the north and south side of Costco. Found no construction taking place around the Costco buildings. We were now hearing that there were strong odors east of Station 51 and in the 837 Industry area. E-52 proceeded to Industry Dr and Minkler and covered the 1000 addresses on Industry. Found pockets of strong odors here also. All around Costco and in the 1000 addresses we had our four gas detector sampling and never picked up an amount that showed flammable. From here we went to 17100 West Valley Hwy, NC Machinery where we found even stronger smelling pockets but no readings on the four gas detector. Then we were dispatched back to 400 Costco Dr for another report by employees of the natural gas smell in the area. E-52 responded to TFD 090847. No determination was made as to the source of the natural gas odor. Due to neglegable wind and cold temps it took awhile for the odor to disipate.
