Narrative Text E51 dispatched to a flammable Liquid Spill. Reports of an antifreeze spill in the gutter of
the roadway.
E51 arrived to fmd 1-2 gallons of antifreeze spilled in 10-15 gallons of standing water.
E51 built a berm out of dirt to contain the water and protect the storm drain. We contacted
Training 51 and inquired as to whether the hazmat team had something that would soak up
the antifreeze so that we could remove it from the water. Training 51 informed us that our
Amerizorb would soak up the antifreeze and that it would slowly work to neutralize the
antifreeze.
E51 placed Amerizorb on the spill. No other hazard existed.
E51 returned in service.
