Narrative Text At 1729 hours on Thursday April 16, 2009 we were dispatched to a hazmat release
investigation with no hazmat. Five units were assigned to this incident. Eight personnel
responded. We arrived on scene at 1736 hours and cleared at 1855 hours. The incident
occurred at 3355 S 120 Pl, Tukwila in District 007. The local station is 53. The general
description of this property is vehicle parking area. The primary task(s) performed at the
scene by responding personnel was investigation. Automatic aid was received on this
incident.
Alarm number 0901301 has been assigned to this incident.
L54, B51 and E53 investigated a pair of 5 gallon buckets that were placed near a dumpster
behind the above address. The buckets contained an epoxy resin that was producing
temperatures around 150-160 degrees.
L54 performed a recon wearing full PPE including SCBA's while E53 stood by and B51
was IC. Readings were taken with a temperature gun every ten minujtes until it was
determined the epoxy was stable.
The contracter that dumped the materials was called back to the scene to remove the
buckets once they cooled off all of the way.
There was no furthur action required and all units returned in service.
