Narrative Text E51 dispatched to a flammable liquid spill. Reports of gasoline leaking from a vehicle on
the side of the freeway.
E51 arrived to fmd a Dodge Caravan on the left shoulder at 18500 I-5 Fwy South. The
occupant stated that the vehicle quit running. She pulled to the side of the road and
gasoline was leaking from underneath the vehicle. The leak quit shortly after the owner
turned the ignition off. There was no active leak however, there was an odor of gasoline.
DOT arrived on location and determined that a gas line had separated and leaked the fuel.
DOT was able to repair the line enough to allow the owner to move the vehicle to the right
shoulder of the freeway. The owner had called for a tow truck and was going to have the
car towed home rather than risk driving it.
There was no hazard present.
E51 returned in service.
