Narrative Text At 2350 hours on Thursday July 23, 2009. One unit was assigned to this incident. Three
personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 2357 hours and cleared at 0006 hours. The
incident occurred at 15400 Tukwila Intl Blvd, Tukwila in District 012. The local station is
54. The general description of this property is rapid transit station. The primary task(s)
performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. No mutual/automatic
aid was given or received.
Alarm number 0902624 has been assigned to this incident.
L54 was dispatched to a hazardous material investigation. Upon arrival we were met by a
security guard at the top of the escalator.
The security guard stated that he found a bag containing a white substance on the divider
between the up and down escalator. He added the some "kids" had been in the area causing
"problems" earlier and that he found the bag after telling them to leave.
L54-3 and I observed the bag, it was a small, clear plastic bag, with a knot tied in it. I
donned a pair of exam gloves and lifted the bag up by the knot. The bag had a small tear in
the bottom of it, this caused some of the substance to spill onto the divider.

Narratives
The substance was dry, granular and uniform in color (white). We determined that it was
either salt or sugar. I wrapped the bag into my exam gloves and disposed of it in a waste
can. L54 returned.
