Narrative Text At 1050 hours on Sunday August 16, 2009 we were dispatched to a hazmat release
investigation with no hazmat. Six units were assigned to this incident. Thirteen personnel
responded. We arrived on scene at 1055 hours and cleared at 1106 hours. The incident
occurred at 5314 S 140 St, TUKWILA in District 002. The local station is 52. The general
description of this property is 1 or 2 family dwelling. The primary task(s) performed at the
scene by responding personnel was investigation. Mutual aid was received on this incident.
Alarm number 0903008 has been assigned to this incident.
Units were dispatched to a residence at which the resident had reported that she could not
shut off the flow of gas at her stove in the kitchen. Enroute A-14 was code greened by
B-51. E-52 arrived, made conact with Candice Pinder, the occupant and entered the house
to check on the leak. L-54 established command and other arriving units stood by. E-52
found that there was no gas flowing at the stove. The electronic ignitor would not stop
clicking for the left rear burner. E-52 advised that all units except E-52 were code
greened. E-52 unplugged the power from the cook top which stopped the electronic
ignitor from clicking. Advised Candice that the cook top is still usable but she just needs
to manually light a burner when one is needed or the cook top can be plugged back in and
used. The ignitor will just keep clicking during the time that it is plugged in.
All Tukwila units and E-52 in service- returning.
