Narrative Name 0903692 Narrative Type Incident Narrative Date 21:29:48 Monday, October 5, 2009 Author TF1136 - Johnson, Jeffrey Author Rank CAPT Author Assignment 1 Narrative Text At 1657 hours on Monday October 5, 2009 we were dispatched to an oil or other combustible liquid spill. One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1704 hours and cleared at 1720 hours. The incident occurred at 11500 I-5 Fwy N, TUKWILA in District 007. The local station is 53. The general description of this property is highway or divided highway. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was hazard removal. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. E53 responded to a reported oil spill from a tanker truck. The MDT stated that the spill was from engine oil, not from the actual tanker itself. Upon arrival, E53 found a sheen of obvious motor oil, 100' long by 1' wide ending under the front end of a double gasoline tanker. The driver stated that the tanks were empty and that he thought he had blown his Page: 2 Printed: 10/05/2009 21:34:41 Incident Report 2009-0903692 -000 Tukwila Fire Department Narratives engine. E53 officer requested DOT and began spreading Amerizorb and dirt to absorb the oil. WSP arrived and arranged for a tow. We were able to code green DOT as we were able to mitigate the hazard ourselves. E53 returned. Also, an Amerizorb sheet was filled out and submitted. Alarm number 0903692 has been assigned to this incident.
