Narrative Text At 1336 hours on Tuesday October 27, 2009 we were dispatched to a gas leak. Six units
were assigned to this incident. Eleven personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1343
hours and cleared at 1404 hours. The incident occurred at 4612 S 140 St, Tukwila in
District 011. The local station is 54. The general description of this property is 1 or 2
family dwelling. Automatic aid was received on this incident.
Alarm number 0903969 has been assigned to this incident.
E51, E53, L54, E47, A28 were dispatched to a natural leak in a residence. I (B51) was in
the area and added myself to the call and was the first to arrive.
I was met by the occupants/owner in the driveway. They stated that they had been away for
two hours and upon returning found a strong odor of natural gas in the home. They stated
that all appliances were off when they left.
Due to the size and length of the driveway, I had the first arriving engine report to the
house and directed all other units to standby. E47 arrived, donned their SCBA's and
entered the house with their air monitor. They found that a stove burner was not turned off
completely.
1 code greened all standby units and E47 naturally ventilated the structure.
E47 and B51 returned.
