Narrative Text On Tuesday, 8 December 2009, at 1416 hrs, E51, E53, E76, L54, B51, A14 were
dispatched to 18290 Olympic Ave S for a SMELL OF NATURAL GAS inside a building.
E76 arrived at 1422, all Tukwila units responded from Station 54. All units cleared the
scene at 1502.
On arrivel, E76 performed an initial size up of the structure and awaited the arrival of
other responding units. B51 established Incident Command; A14 was assigned as a
Backup/Standby Team; E76 made entry and performed air monitoring inside the tenant
space; E51 stood by the nearest hydrant; E53 checked the neighboring tenant space; L54
was sent to the roof to look for a natural gas leak.
No readings for combustible mixtures were reported inside the incident tenant space or in
the neighboring area. Puget Sound Energy was requested to the scene and all units, except
E51, cleared the scene. Upon arrival of PSE Gas Technician, the scene was turned over to
them for further resolution (following a incident briefmg from B51 to PSE worker).
