Narrative Text At 1248 hours on Friday April 2, 2010 we were dispatched to an oil or other combustible
liquid spill. One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded. We arrived
on scene at 1257 hours and cleared at 1302 hours. The incident occurred at 8531 E
MARGINAL Way S, TUKWILA in District 009. The local station is 53. The general
description of this property is manufacturing, processing. The primary task(s) performed at
the scene by responding personnel was investigation. No mutual/automatic aid was given
or received.
E53 responded to a report of a 5-10 gallon hydraulic oil spill at Jorgensen Forge. Upon
arrival, E53 found a front loader that had sprung a leak and lost approximately 5-10
gallons of oil. The business representative stated that some had leaked into the storm drain
before they managed to dike it. E53 officer noted that they had diked the storm drain,
spread absorbant around the front loader, and placed absorbant pads around the loader as
well. Further, the representative stated that he had a vac truck coming to suction out
whatever he could from the storm drain. E53 complimented him on the thoroughness of
his actions and returned.
