Narrative Text At 2303 hours on Thursday July 22, 2010 we were dispatched to a flammable gas or liquid
condition. Six units were assigned to this incident. Twelve personnel responded. We
arrived on scene at 2307 hours and cleared at 2332 hours. The incident occurred at 4218 S
116 St, Tukwila in District 007. The local station is 53. The general description of this
property is 1 or 2 family dwelling. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by
responding personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken.

Alarm number 1002555 has been assigned to this incident.
E53 dispatched to 4218 S 116 St for a reported natural gas leak inside a building. While in
route E53 was updated by dispach that the source of the leak was from a broken knob on
the stove in the kitchen. The reported party could not shut it off and there is a smell of gas
in the building, no fire, occupants are evauating. The first due station is Station 53.
E53 arrived to find a 25 X 100 two story wood framed single family dweling, nothing
visible, occupants out front.
E53 investigated to find no smell of gas within the building or measurable level using a
Mirco max gas detector. E53 found a knob sheared off to a burner on the stove. E53 shut
that down. E53 did not find any additional probems associated with this gas response
within the house. E53 examined the rest of the house for gas and did not smell or find any
reading on the gas detector.
E53 code greened all other responding apparatus. E53 was told by the owner that she
turned off the furness and air conditioning unit and would like E53 assistance in
procudure. Both E53 and B51 were not familar with this type of unit and gave the owner
guidance to call a service technican to refire the system.
E53 returned in-service.
