Narrative Text At 1928 hours on Thursday August 19, 2010 we were dispatched to a service call. One unit
was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1933
hours and cleared at 2047 hours. The incident occurred at 350 Baker Blvd, Tukwila in
District 001. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is
athletic/health club. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel
was investigation. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 1002979 has been assigned to this incident.
E51 responded to a odor investigation. The smell was described as burning rubber in the
sauna. Upon arrival found nothing showing there was no alarm or detector activated. We
were lead back to the men's locker room where we could smell something burning. There
were no other potential ignition sources near by and someone told the manager that they
saw some smoke near the floor of the sauna. We looked at the area and found no burn
marks or indication of fire. I told management we should isolate the power to the sauna
and have a repair tech come out to look at it. He attempted to let us into the locked
electrical room (which also is the FAP room). There was no key available to get into the

room.
After working with management and trying to track down a key, we attempted to use our
key box key. We found that the key in the box was an old key and the locks had since been
changed. Not wanting to leave the sauna continuing to heat and potentially cause more
smoke or fire, We pulled the exterior hinges off the door. We shut off the applicable
breaker and reinstalled the door.
One of the managers showed up with a copy of the master key we needed and we were
able to place the correct key into the Knox box. AJ
