Narrative Text At 0923 hours on Tuesday November 30, 2010 we were dispatched to a gas leak. Two
units were assigned to this incident. Six personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0932
hours and cleared at 0958 hours. The incident occurred at 6458 S 144 St, Tukwila in
District 002. The local station is 52. The general description of this property is
manufacturing, processing. Other special haz mat actions were also taken. No
mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 1004346 has been assigned to this incident.

Narratives
E52 dispatched to 6458 S 144 St #2 for a reported natural gas leak outside the building.
While in route E52 was updated by dispatch that a truck had backed into the building gas
meter, a hissing sound was heard. Puget Sound Energy already notified. The first due
station is Station 52.
E52 arrived to find a broken gas line with the gas meter severed and hanging on the rear
bumper of a semi trailer. E52 stood -by the nearest hydrant. E52 Officer proceed to
complete a 360.
E52 investigated to find natural gas coming from the severed gas line. E52 estimated the
line to be about 1 1/2 inch in diameter. E52 evaluated three sides of the building with no
other notables. E52 was instructed by manager of the effected occupancy that all employee
had evacuated. E52 had E52 third with the micro max monitor in full PPE evaluated the
effected occupancy for LEL. E52 instructed E52 third that if any LEL was present to notify
E52 and withdrawal from the building.
E52 confirmed with E51 that an precautionary line was not need at this time. This was
confirmed by E51. E51 proceeded to shut down the gas line. E51 was successful in
securing the gas line.
E52 instructed E51 third to meet up with E52 third. E52 instructed this crew to evaluated
all associated business for LEL and any need for ventilation.
PSE arrived. All associated business were cleared for LEL or any other need for
ventilation. E52 allowed the business to reoccupy.
E52 released scene to PSE. E52 returned in-service.
