At 0335 hours on Friday December 17, 2010 we were dispatched to a flammable gas or
liquid condition. Two units were assigned to this incident. Six personnel responded. We
arrived on scene at 0342 hours and cleared at 0410 hours. The incident occurred at 3425 S
116 St, Tukwila in District 007. The local station is 53. The general description of this
property is street or road in commercial area. The primary task(s) performed at the scene
by responding personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken.
No mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 1004565 has been assigned to this incident.
E53, E52 dispatched to a natural gas leak in the area of 3425 S. 116 St. On our arrival in
the area, we located the rp, a security guard. She noted that she smelled natural gas and
mentioned some employees in a nearby building had smelled the same and that a gas meter
was making a hissing sound. Upon inspection of the meter, the sound was normal
operation of gas flowing through. We spoke to the employees and found that one smelled
natural gas and the other smelled gasoline. As we walked around, I thought I smelled
natural gas transiently. After talking to the workers, we found an area in the roadway
where we could all smell gasoline. No source was found. All vehicles in the area and
upwind were checked with no source. Determined to be a transient, drifting odor. KB
