were assigned to this incident. Fourteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1429
hours and cleared at 1527 hours. The incident occurred at 3225 S 116 St, Tukwila in
District 007. The local station is 53. The general description of this property is business
office. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was
investigation. Other special hoz mat actions were also taken. Automatic aid was received
on this incident.
Alarm number 1100119 has been assigned to this incident.
E53 dispatch to 3225 S 116 ST #109 for a reported smell of natural gas in the building.
The first due station is Station 53.
E53 arrived to find a 50 X 300 "L" shaped two story concrete tilt -up nothing visible, not
evacuated. E53 completed a drive around 360. E53 instructed all arriving companies to
standby on S 116 St.
E53 invest aged and found a smell of natural gas in the building. E53 established Gateway
Command and located command at E53. E53 defined side "A" Adam as the West side of
the buildings.
Gateway Command was assumed by B51. E53 became Safety. Gateway Command
instructed E52 to check the natural gas lines on side "C" Charlie of the building. L54 was
instructed to ladder side "C" Charlie and check roof top utilities. E22 was code greened
and A54 was to search inside unites using a micro max air monitor. A54 was instructed by
command to notify command if any readings were found within the units.
Gateway Command was updated by dispatch that PSE had been notified and they had
within the last few hours received numerous call in this general area.
Gateway Command was updated by L54 of a possible source being a stack located over
unit 109. After further investigation L54 got zero readings on their micro max air monitor
at this location. L54 communicates odor seems to be transient when the wind shifts.
A54 found no all units clear of any readings of natural gas. Only unit that could not be

Gateway Command was disbanded by B51 and command was transferred to E53. All units
except E53 and A54 returned in-service.
E53 made contact with the PSE representative. E53 as told by him that they have had over
20 calls for natural gas from South Seattle to the 520 bridge down to Tukwila and don't
have a cause for the incidents.
E53 requested A54 to assist PSE representative in searching unit 109 for any additional
gas findings. At this time management's mechanical contractor arrived on location and E53
gave him a briefing of the incident. A54 and the PSE representative found a possible
source to be an overhead heater and slightly elevated air monitoring values.
The manager and mechanical contractor will examine the overhead heater for possible
service.
E53 was cleared by PSE that no remarkable gas values were found in unit 109 and could
be reoccupied. E53 released the scene to the manager.
E53 returned in-service.
