Narrative Text At 1105 hours on Friday April 1, 2011 we were dispatched to a toxic condition. Six units
were assigned to this incident. Fourteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1112
hours and cleared at 1126 hours. The incident occurred at 17616 W Valley Hwy, Tukwila
in District 005. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is
manufacturing, processing. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding
personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken. Automatic aid
was received on this incident.
Alarm number 1101078 has been assigned to this incident.
Dispatched to a report of smell of natural gas inside. Reported from 17620 and thought to
be coming from 17616. Upon arrival of E-51 traveled along the north side of the building

Narrative Text At 1105 hours on Friday April 1, 2011 we were dispatched to a toxic condition. Six units
were assigned to this incident. Fourteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1112
hours and cleared at 1126 hours. The incident occurred at 17616 W Valley Hwy, Tukwila
in District 005. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is
manufacturing, processing. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding
personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken. Automatic aid
was received on this incident.
Alarm number 1101078 has been assigned to this incident.
Dispatched to a report of smell of natural gas inside. Reported from 17620 and thought to
be coming from 17616. Upon arrival of E-51 traveled along the north side of the building

and then along the east side and then west along the south side to 17620. Found nothing
remarkable from the outside. Upon arrival at 17620 we were met by an employee who
stated that it had been really strong in the rear warehouse area. We entered with the
employee and brought the 5 gas detector. Employee brought us to the warehouse and now
states that they had the rool up door open for ventilation. Employee states that you can
still smell it in the back corner. We smell nothing and the meter shows nothing. Exit the
building at the rear and go to the rear entrance of 17616. Enter the manufacturing area and
do not detect any odor. E-52 is coming from the front of the business with an employee of
17616. Mr Steven Zack explains that they had a service tech working on their large baking
oven. The tech had been adjusting the burner and had not turned on the exhaust fan
system. This had caused the build up of exhaust gas and odor. There had not been a
natural gas leak. I went to the front desk to collect occupant info and in this area there was
still a very strong odor of the exhaust gas. They had the front door blocked open and this
area was venting.
No gas leak for this incident.
There has evidentially been an ongoing issue with exhaust fumes entering the 17620
occupancy and causing the employees there to get headaches from the fumes.
All fire units are in service- returning from this incident.
