One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0627 hours and cleared at 0710 hours. The incident occurred at 673 Strander Blvd, Tukwila in District 005. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is business office. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. No mutualautomatic aid was given or received. Alarm number 1101190 has been assigned to this incident. E51 was dispatched to a gasoline leak from the gas tank of a van. Probably another half gallon had spilled onto the asphalt parking lot, and was evaporating. The gas tank was still leaking, apparently caused by thieves who had attempted to steal gas by cutting the gas line under the van. E51 used two bags of Amerizorb to absorb the gasoline that had spilled onto the asphalt. E51 used the large Prowler pool to catch the leak, and then determined that there was still a quarter tank of gas remaining in the van. E51 attempted to use the Hazmat hand pump to empty the van's gas tank, but the hose was of too large a diameter to fit. (The hose is designed for use on diesel tanks that have a larger diameter opening.) E51 left the Prowler pool with the business occupant, with the understanding that E51 would recontact the occupant to see if he needed assistance to dispose of the gasoline from the pool. E51 returned in service.
