Three units were assigned to this incident. Seven personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1159 hours and cleared at 1221 hours. The incident occurred at 17700 W Valley Hwy, Tukwila in District 005. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is Industrial plant yard/area. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. Alarm number 1102716 has been assigned to this incident. Narrative: Engine 51 was dispatched to this location to investigate a Hazardous Leak. E52 was dispatched in place of E51 (cancelled en route), and B51 added himself to the response. While en route, E52, B51 were advised that a worker had discovered evidence of a Page: 3 Printed: 01/14/2012 09:04:40 Incident Report 2011-1102716 -000 Tukwila Fire Department Narratives burglary and a spill of 100-500 gallons of diesel. Upon arrival, TFD crews discovered a large spill had occurred from a portable fuel tank on a flatbed trailer. The pavement between the trailer and the storm drain was wet with diesel, covering an approximate area of 500 square feet. The flow of product had been stopped by the placement of absorbant sock -booms. According to the employee on location, he did not place the booms there and did not know how the came to be placed there. It was unknown if any product entered the storm drain. E52 poured a bag of absorbant in the area of the the storm drain, to support the work of the already saturated sock -booms. A tour of the storage yard with the employee revealed evidence of the theft of fuel and vandalism to the yard gate. The scene was turned over to Tuwila Police to continue their criminal investigation.
