Narrative Text At 0915 hours on Friday March 16, 2012 we were dispatched to a passenger vehicle fire.
Three units were assigned to this incident. Four personnel responded. We arrived on scene
at 0922 hours and cleared at 1013 hours. The incident occurred at 9000 I-405 Fwy N,
RENTON in District O/J. The local station is 51. The general description of this property
is highway or divided highway. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding
personnel was extinguishment. Automatic aid was given on this incident.
Alarm number 1200903 has been assigned to this incident.
E51 sent to a reported vehicle fire.
E51 arrvied to fmd a fully involved van fire. E51 requested second unit as none was
dispatched with us.
E51 attacked the fire with an inch and 3/4 hose line and a dry due to the magnesium found
burning in the passenger compartment.
Van was a commercial rug cleaner with onboard mechanical equipment. The equipment
was not invovled in the fire. Vehicle was being driven at time of fire. Occupant attempted
to exitnguise fire below drivers seat with extinguiser.
Dollar loss and vehicle info sent to Renton Fire for proper reporting of dollar loss.
