liquid condition. Eight units were assigned to this incident. Eleven personnel responded.
We arrived on scene at 2313 hours and cleared at 2334 hours. The incident occurred at
17790 Southcenter Pky, Tukwila in District 006. The local station is 51. The general
description of this property is eating, drinking places. The primary task(s) performed at the
scene by responding personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also
taken. Automatic aid was received on this incident.
Alarm number 1204807 has been assigned to this incident.
Dispatched to an odor of natural gas inside of the restaurant. Upon arrival the manager
met us at the front door and advised that there was an odor of natural gas in the dining area
but no odor in the kitchen area. B-51 established command. E-51 entered with a
flammable gas meter. Found strong odor in the dining area with it being strongest around
the bar which is in the center of this area. Manager already had the exit doors blocked
open for ventilation. Found a reading of 2 breifly on the meter. No odor at all in the
kitchen. L-11 went to the roof to check the HVAC units. No problems found on the roof.
E-52 came in with fresh noses and a meter. Odor is going away after twenty minutes on
location. No problems found in or at the building. Feel that there was an exterior release
in the area that created a small cloud that ended being drawn into the HVAC system for the
restaurant. Cloud has passed or disipated and the odor has left.
All units are in service- returning.
