Narrative Text At 1440 hours on Wednesday May 1, 2013 we were dispatched to a gas leak. Three units
were assigned to this incident. Seven personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 1443
hours and cleared at 1455 hours. The incident occurred at 101 Andover Park E, Tukwila in
District 004. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is general
retail. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was
investigation. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 1301529 has been assigned to this incident.
TFD units were dispatched to a propane leak at Lowe's. E51 arrived, made contact with
the manager, and investigated. B51 established Command and E52 stood by. E51
discovered that a tiny amount of propane gas was venting from a 250 gallon propane tank.
The odor was very slight and the gas monitor did not detect any gas until the monitor was
held up to the coupling/valve where the gas was venting. (The tank was in full sunlight.)
E51 confirmed that the manager had a representative from Ferrell gas on the way to correct
the problem (ETA of twenty minutes). E51 told the manager to call 911 if the odor got
significantly worse before Ferrell gas fixed the leak.
All TFD units returned in service.
