At 1326 hours on Sunday January 26, 2014 we were dispatched to a gasoline or other
flammable liquid spill. Two units were assigned to this incident. Six personnel responded.
We arrived on scene at 1332 hours and cleared at 1425 hours. The incident occurred at
13138 Interurban Ave S, Tukwila in District 001. The local station is 53. The general
description of this property is service station, gas station. The primary task(s) performed at
the scene by responding personnel was to refer to proper authority. No mutual/automatic
aid was given or received.
Alarm number 1400322 has been assigned to this incident.
E52 responded to a SPILL of gasoline at a gas station. E52 arrived to fmd that a hose had
broken, spilling seven gallons of gasoline, half of which had gone into the storm drain.
E52 spread the gas station's absorbent to contain the above -ground half of the spill.
As to the 3-4 gallons that got into the storm drain, E52 confirmed that the gas station had a
fuel separator system, and checked the storm drain outflow at the river to ensure that no
gasoline reached the river.
E52 contacted the facilities manager, who was enroute. B51 contacted city street
department, and a city employee confirmed that all of the gasoline had been captured by
the fuel separator.
E52 returned in service.
