E52 on location with B51.
We were assigned to patient care in the lobby of the 16000 building. We had 5 green
patients initially, 2 of those patients were up graded to yellow and transported to Swedish
Hospital via Tri Med
E52 was tasked with placing red barricade tape over both entrances to the 240 office and
after evacuating the 250 office we placed barricade tape across the East hallway of the
second floor..
E52 was moved to cover Station 51. We released E281.
E52 returned in service at 1258.

Narrative Text E-51 responded to this incident. B-51 had already established command. E-52 had
arrived and was triaging 5 patients. E-51 was assigned to take our Go Kit and when
enough hazmat techs had arrived to sample the air in suite 240.
Hazmat 14 and 76 arrived. HZ 14 and E-51 put together a collection of meters to make an
entry. FF Planellas set up a gross decon line at E-51 and stoodby with it in case of need.
An entry team of three techs (two techs from E-51 and one tech from HZ -14) enter the
building in bunkers and airpaks. At the second floor level we go on air and check suite
240 and the hallway thoroughly. Three techs from HZ -76 are the backup/ rescue team and
standby on the first floor at the base of the stairs. Entry team checks all offices, the copier
room (odor said to be coming from here), common area, also check all garbage cans. No
readings on meters noted. nothing found. Also disconnected power to the copy machine.
Entry team leaves the building and a discussion among techs ensues.
Building mechanical engineer states that there is a Large HVAC unit above suite 240 on the
third floor. It is located in the business above. Entry team back in again on air and with
all monitors active. Go to the third floor and find that the employees are still in the
occupany on the third floor and working and have no complaints.
Back to the second floor and check out suite 240 again. Once again no readings are seen
on any of the monitors. B-51 arrives in suite 240 to confirm the area where he had
personally experienced the odor. He goes to the copier room and no odor of any type is
detected. Entry and backup teams leave the building. Building is cleared for all occupants
that are out of the building to re-enter.
E-51 techs doff their airpaks and collect monitors. E-51 gross decon line is drained and
reloaded.
Shortly after all units are released and E-51 returns in service also.

At 1042 hours on Wednesday April 16, 2014 we were dispatched to a chemical hazard (no
spill or leak). Fifteen units were assigned to this incident. Fourteen personnel responded.
We arrived on scene at 1051 hours and cleared at 1330 hours. The incident occurred at
16000 Christensen Rd, Tukwila in District 004. The local station is 51. The general
description of this property is business office. The primary task(s) performed at the scene
by responding personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken.
Automatic aid was received on this incident.
Five patients were involved with this incident.
