Three units were assigned to this incident. Seven personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0944 hours and cleared at 1039 hours. The incident occurred at 917 Industry Dr, Tukwila in District 005. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is business office. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel were hazardous materials spill control and confinement. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. Alarm number 1401646 has been assigned to this incident. INCIDENT NARRATIVE: E51 dispatched to address to investigate a smell of gasoline inside the building. On arrival, we were met by the occupants who reported a smell "like an autobody shop" inside their tenant space. Investigation found a portable generator had leaked gasoline on the floor in the warehouse area of thier space. The space was evaluated with an atmospheric monitor from E51, Equipment was moved to access the area, absorbant pads were used to soak up the spill. The front door and rear roll -up doors were opened for ventilation and E52's electric fan was used to assist ventilation of the space. Neighboring tenant spaces (925, 915, & 913) were inspected for any fumes or vapors (none found); The upstairs hallway was also clear of odors. The upstairs spaces were vacant/unoccupied. Instructed the occupants on proper disposal of the abosrbant pads (once dry to the touch, they could be disposed of in the trash); the generator should be taken to an appropriate repair facility before it is refueled or returned to the warehouse area. I further instructed the occupants to keep the doors open (with fans blowing if possible) for the rest of the day to remove any residual odors from their office. All units then cleared the scene. No further action required at this time.
