Narrative Text At 0920 hours on Monday June 30, 2014 we were dispatched to a carbon monoxide
incident. Three units were assigned to this incident. Seven personnel responded. We
arrived on scene at 0923 hours and cleared at 0958 hours. The incident occurred at 14630
46 Ave S, Tukwila in District 0914. The local station is 54. The general description of this
property is 1 or 2 family dwelling. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by
responding personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken.
Mutual aid was received on this incident.
Alarm number 1402451 has been assigned to this incident.
L54 dispatched to CO alarm at residence. Upon arrival, L54 entered evacuated house and
only got a reading of 41 ppm at the top of the basement stairs. Once the reading was
observed, I added an additional fire unit and B51.
Once E47 arrived, my third and I entered the house from the basement and investigated.
The CO was only concentrated in the stairwell which had closed doors at both the top and
bottom.
The source was not found, but the gas furnace and gas water heater were shut off by
turning off the gas supply. The home resident was going to call a furnace tech to try to
determine the cause of the CO.
All readings were below 5 ppm when we left the scene.
