One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0212 hours and cleared at 0231 hours. The incident occurred at 13435 INTERURBAN Ave, Tukwila in District 001. The local station is 52. The general description of this property is service station, gas station. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel were hazardous materials spill control and confinement. No mutuallautomatic aid was given or received. Alarm number 1402890 has been assigned to this incident. E52 arrived to Pacific Pride to find two semi trucks parked at the pumps at the west side of the business. One tractor trailer was refueling the station and was parked at the west -most stall. The next stall over had a Darigold tractor trailer, at pump number 11. Below the Darigold truck was a large spill area of diesel that had run off into a depression in the parking lot, which then ran under the refueling semi and into a drain. The rest of the parking lot was dry since there has been no rain for several days. Pump number 11 was off. The spill is estimated to be approximately 5 gallons. At the drain, diesel could be seen at the bottom of the retention container, but had not reached the level of the runoff pipe. The driver said that the pump handle malfunctioned and did not shut off when his tank was full. The driver of the refueling truck confirmed that he saw the incident happen the same way. E52 also inserted 4 absorbant pads through the grates and into the drain retention to begin absorbing the diesel. E52 was able to contact the Site Manager, Darryl, through the answering service phone number listed on the side of the building. Darryl agreed that he would be coming out and calling a clean up company right away. E52 returned in service.
