Narrative Text At 0640 hours on Thursday August 28, 2014 we were dispatched to a gasoline or other
flammable liquid spill. One unit was assigned to this incident. Three personnel responded.
We arrived on scene at 0647 hours and cleared at 0704 hours. The incident occurred at
9404 E MARGINAL Way, TUKWILA in District 008. The local station is 53. The general
description of this property is museum. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by
responding personnel were hazardous materials leak control and containment. No
mutual/automatic aid was given or received.
Alarm number 1403361 has been assigned to this incident.
E53 was dispatched and responded to a fuel leak in the parking lot of the museum of
Flight. Upon arrival, found a green BMW with owner waving us down and leaking
gasoline under the vehicle.
The owner/driver stated that he had narrowly missed being hit by road debris enroute to a
meeting at the dispatched location. A large piece of steel fell off a truck while on the road
which the driver says hit his vehicle and he ran over. The driver did not notice the leak in
his gas tank until he arrived at the dispatched location.
E53 deployed a containment pool and applied absorbent material for fuel spills. The driver
contacted his insurance and requested a tow for removal to a repair facility.
E53 returned in service. AJ
