Narrative Text At 1612 hours on Tuesday September 23, 2014 we were dispatched to a gas leak. Seven

units were assigned to this incident. Ten personnel responded. We arrived on scene at
1620 hours and cleared at 1650 hours. The incident occurred at 1226 Andover Park E,
Tukwila in District 005. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is
warehouse. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was
investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken. Automatic aid was received
on this incident.
Alarm number 1403729 has been assigned to this incident.
E52 to respond with a full commercial assignment for a Natural Gas Leak Inside a
building. There is a pipe to a heater leaking in a warehouse.
On arrival to fmd a large, single story, concrete tilt up with nothing showing. There is an
odor of natural gas in the area. The building appears evacuated. PSE is on location.
We were met by the maintenance person and he said an employee smelled the gas and
informed him so he found the leaking pipe and shut the meter off to the heater. He said he
then began to open all of the roll up doors to the warehouse to ventilate the building. He
advised the building owner Mr Cline who called PSE. I code greened all units and will be
able to handle with E52.
E52 did a recon with the worker and a gas meter to see the heater that is broken. We used
the 5 gas detector and got no hits. There is a Reznor heater on the ceiling in the southwest
corner that is the cause. The maintenance person said he thought the heater came loose
and slipped down causing the leak. He said he heard it hissing before he shut down the
meter.
I then spoke with the PSE person and he advised he is just going to secure the meter that
has been shut down and turn it over to the owner to call a repair person for the gas
plumbing and heater repair.
We ran our electric fan to clear the offices of the odor and the Mr Cline said he will leave
the roll up doors open to ventilate the warehouse for a couple of hours. He also open a
roof hatch to assist with air movement.
E52 is returning in service.
