Four units were assigned to this incident. Four personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0449 hours and cleared at 0531 hours. The incident occurred at 17830 W Valley Hwy, Tukwila in District 005. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is manufacturing, processing. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. Automatic aid was received on this incident. Alarm number 1501187 has been assigned to this incident. E51 responded to a diesel spill at Hartung Glass. The driver of a semi truck struck a concrete curb while driving around the business puncturing his fuel tank. The driver continued to drive around the business until he reached the front. At which time he noticed the leak. Driver stated he had less than half of a tank of fuel (aprox 40 gallons) much of which was contained in buckets. There was some obvious signs of leak/spill in a few puddles in front of the business and travelled into the dirt parking lot run off area. There were NO storm drains or drains of any kind in the vicinity of the truck. E51 used pads and booms to isolate the leak any further and clean up company was called. Mike Trout (206-228-4842) who is Hartung Glass Maintainance Manage had called several enviormental clean up companies had MCRF clean up en route for evaluation and clean up. The scene was left to Mr. Trout and all fire apparatus cleared the scene.
