At 1141 hours on Thursday May 28, 2015 we were dispatched to a chemical hazard (no
spill or leak). Two units were assigned to this incident. Six personnel responded. We
arrived on scene at 1145 hours and cleared at 1150 hours. The incident occurred at 14250
53 Ave S, Tukwila in District 011. The local station is 52. The general description of this
property is 1 or 2 family dwelling. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by
responding personnel was investigation. Other special haz mat actions were also taken. No
mutual/automatic aid was given or received.

Alarm number 1502105 has been assigned to this incident.
E54 responded and arrived on location. E54 met with the home owner. She stated she had
just had her 5 gallon propane tank filled for her BBQ. The propane tank was not connected
to anything but was sitting in the sun on a warm day. The home owner stated that the
propane tank started to leak out of the overflow valve. No leak was occurring on E54
arrival. E54 assumption is that the propane tank was full or may have been slightly over
filled. The combination of a full tank and the warm day made the tank over pressure and
the relief valve activated until under normal pressure.
When E54 left the scene there was no active leak and no threat of further malfunction.
Home owner understood what the cause may have been and E54 retumed in service.
