Edwards, Randall CAPT Page 4 of 6 Printed: 06/28/2015 14:51:00 Incident Report 2015-1502627 -000 Tukwila Fire Department Narratives Author Assignment Narrative Text 1 At 0728 hours on Sunday June 28, 2015 we were dispatched to a gasoline or other flammable liquid spill. Nine units were assigned to this incident. Thirteen personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0737 hours and cleared at 1207 hours. The incident occurred at 16205 49TH Ave S, Tukwila in District 004. The local station is 54. The general description of this property is 1 or 2 family dwelling. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel was investigation. Other special hoz mat actions were also taken. Automatic aid was received on this incident. L54 was dispatched to a natural gas inside the building at 16205 49th Ave S. L54 was the first unit on location and had all other units stand by on S 164th while L54 investigated. L54 was meet by the occupant daughter who stated she did not smell anything upstairs and her father was still inside and was disabled. I Captain Edwards did a 360 of the building which was a split level house and found the windows were open and the gas meter was not running. B51 arrived and took command. FF. Judkins and I then entered the structure to monitored the upstairs and remove the disabled occupant. The tenant of the house sitting and was helped out of the structure by FF. McCone. At this time all the readings were norinal. We then went down stairs and checked the furnace room, the south end larger living room and then went down the hallway to the north and south bedroom. The doors to the bedrooms were closed but not locked. The bathroom door next to them was locked from the inside. All reading downstairs were also normal. At that time we took off our airpacks and smelled what we thought was gasoline. We exited the building and found a gas can near the window of the west basement bedroom. The can had collapsed, there was a strong smell of gasolin in the area around that can. We moved to away from the window and tied in with B51. At that time all units except for L54 were released. FF. Judkins and I then went back in and removed the knob to the basement bathroom and found the open gas can on its side in the bathroom. There was what appeared to be gasoline on the floor around the can. It was that time we removed it from the house and contact B51 and had a Tukwila Investigator be toned out. FM51 arrived on location and investigated the incident. L54 went in service and returned to quarters.
