Two units were assigned to this incident. Four personnel responded. We arrived on scene at 0206 hours and cleared at 0255 hours. The incident occurred at 400 Costco Dr, Tukwila in District 005. The local station is 51. The general description of this property is street or road in commercial area. The primary task(s) performed at the scene by responding personnel were hazardous materials leak control and containment. No mutual/automatic aid was given or received. Alarm number 1505282 has been assigned to this incident. E51 arrived to find a 20 yard area of Costco Drive behind the warehouse coned off and spill containment buoys were around 2 storm drains. Costco manager, Phil Faulkner, stated he called 3E, Costco's Emergency Service, for a leak that seemed to be seeping from a Sewer manhole cover in the street. There is a white film on the asphalt that runs down to the center of the road and leads to 2 storm drains, which were now diked with absorbant buoys. The manhole is filled with a yellow, grease -like substance that is 6 inches below the cover. The film on the street looks greasy like lard and is faint. There doesn't appear to be any leak that is currently reaching the storm drain. It hasn't rained heavily in the last 2 days until earlier this evening around 2200, and has since been raining steadily. Page 2 of 3 Printed: 12/16/2015 03:15:36 Incident Report 2015-1505282 -000 Tukwila Fire Department (LIVE) Narratives Mr. Faulkner was in contact with 3E. 3E called Rapid Response Cleaning Company, who has a 2 hour ETA to begin cleanup. 3E called Dept of Ecology who called Mr. Faulkner. DOE was deciding on their response. Mr. Faulkner called the City of Tukwila Public Works Department and left a message. Costco employees were going to continue to monitor the amount of runoff and add absorbant pads as needed, depending on the rain, until Rapid Response arrives. E51 and B51 returned in service.
