At 0304 hours on Friday January 1, 2016 we were dispatched to a carbon monoxide
detector activation. Seven units were assigned to this incident. Thirteen personnel
responded. We arrived on scene at 0313 hours and cleared at 0322 hours. The incident
occurred at 5104 S 163 Pl, Tukwila in District 004. The local station is 51. The general
description of this property is 1 or 2 family dwelling. The primary task(s) performed at the
scene by responding personnel was investigation. Other special hoz mat actions were also
taken. Automatic aid was received on this incident.
Alarm number 1600003 has been assigned to this incident.
L54 arrived to fmd a medium sized 2 story house that was not evacuated. L54 investigated
and found no odor and no CO readings on the monitor. Occupant stated when furnace
turns on the furnace room has an odor of gas. Occupant has CO monitors in the room that
had not activated but was concerned of the odor. Home owner asked us to secure the gas
and power to the furnace which we did and he will call for furnace service in the morning.
L54 code greened all incmg units and returned in service.
